Ann Hooley was only 13 years old at the time, the youngest member of the orchestra. In 1972 (now studying in London) at the age of 19 she played Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with Neville in Merthyr Tydfil and Abergavenny. In 1974 she played Brahms’ violin concerto in Merthyr and Abergavenny. She went on to follow a playing and teaching career, now as leader of the Archaeus Quartet.
